I’m not here to just take your picture. I’m here to tell your story.
Whether you’re an athlete, performer, musician, or just finally owning “your thing,” I focus on capturing your personality, energy, and the passion behind everything you do in bold, magazine-worthy photos.
When people search for UTK graduation photos, they’re often thinking about caps, gowns, and smiling portraits on campus. But the best graduation photos do more than mark a finish line. They tell the story of everything it took to get there.
That’s exactly what this session with Jaymen Buchanan was about.
Jaymen is a senior industrial engineering graduate from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, but his experience at UT went far beyond the classroom. During his time in Knoxville, Jaymen also served as a student manager for the Tennessee Volunteers football program, working closely with the wide receivers group. He’s one of only a handful of engineering majors who works as a student manager.

And long days were the norm.
Jaymen arrived at the UT football practice facility at 6:45 a.m. each morning to prep for practice. From there, it was straight to class, homework, and late nights hitting the books. Forty-hour work weeks with the team weren’t optional; they were layered on top of an already demanding engineering course load. Then it was rinse and repeat, all season long.
That rhythm shaped this session, and it shaped how his University of Tennessee graduation photos needed to feel.
For Jaymen’s graduation shoot, we didn’t just pick iconic spots. We chose locations that represented different chapters of his UT story.
We started outside the Tickle College of Engineering, the academic home that challenged Jaymen just as much as football did. Industrial engineering is no joke, and capturing him in front of that building was a visual nod to the balance he maintained between athletics and academics.

From there, we moved to Neyland Stadium, both on the field and in the locker room complex. Neyland isn’t just a backdrop; it’s where Jaymen spent countless early mornings and long Saturdays doing the unglamorous work that keeps a football program running. Being able to photograph inside those walls added weight to the images. This was earned access, earned experience, and earned pride.
We wrapped the session at the legendary University of Tennessee seal along the Pedestrian Walkway. For many seniors, this spot symbolizes completion, crossing from student life into whatever comes next. For Jaymen, it was the final frame in a story defined by discipline and follow-through.
One detail Jaymen was intentional about including in his UTK graduation photos was the championship rings he earned during his time with the Vols. These weren’t props, they were receipts.

Those rings represent seasons of early mornings, late nights, missed social time, and full commitment to a program that demands excellence. Including them in the session helped tell the full story: Jaymen didn’t just attend UT. He contributed to it in a meaningful way.
Originally from Virginia, Jaymen came to Tennessee for opportunity and left with a degree, elite program experience, and a work ethic forged by pressure.

Now that he’s graduated, he’s preparing to step into the next chapter of his career as soon as the Vols wrap up their season at the Music City Bowl in Nashville. Jaymen is set to begin working for Quesenberry’s Construction in Kingsport, TN.
Wherever he lands professionally, the habits that carried him through UT — discipline, preparation, and consistency — are already in place.
Jaymen’s session is a perfect example of why UTK graduation photos should go deeper than a single location or a quick portrait. College is more than a degree, it’s a collection of early mornings, hard choices, and moments where quitting would’ve been easier.
At TriStar Visuals Photography, graduation sessions are designed to reflect that. Whether it’s access to meaningful locations, intentional storytelling, or imagery that feels cinematic instead of generic, the goal is always the same: create photos that actually feel like you.
Because when you look back on your UT experience years from now, you won’t just want to remember how it ended, you’ll want to remember everything it took to get there.
If you’re a UTK senior (or a proud parent planning ahead) and you want graduation photos that feel bold, intentional, and story-driven, reach out to TriStar Visuals Photography. I’ll help you choose the right locations, plan the look, and create images that actually match what this season means.
