Team & Individual Photo Day: Everything Parents Need to Know

Your coach sent you this link for a reason: team photo day with TriStar Visuals Photography is simple, and we want you to feel completely in the loop before your athlete steps in front of the camera. Here’s exactly how it works, from photo day itself to the photos landing in your hands.

What happens on photo day?

Every athlete gets an individual portrait with dramatic, magazine-worthy lighting, not just a flat gym-wall snapshot. We also capture the full team photo, plus any small group or friend shots that make sense for your team. It moves fast when everyone’s ready to go, so here’s how to help your athlete show up prepared:

• Arrive early. We ask players to be ready at least 15-20 minutes before their scheduled time so there aren’t delays for the team.
• Wear the full, correct uniform. Jersey, shorts, socks, and any team accessories like hats or headbands, clean and wrinkle-free. Check with your coach on exactly what the team’s wearing for consistency.
• Fix hair and appearance beforehand. No last-minute surprises once your athlete’s in front of the camera.
• Bring team equipment if it’s part of the shot. Balls, bats, or other gear should be clean and game-ready if your coach has included them in the plan.

Do I need to order anything before photo day?

Nope. You never have to commit to a purchase before you’ve actually seen the photos. We don’t want anyone ordering something they don’t absolutely love.

How does ordering actually work?

After the shoot, your athlete’s photos are uploaded to a private online gallery. You browse everything, pick your favorites, and order directly from the gallery through our secure online checkout. Nothing to sign in advance, no guessing what you’re getting.

When will I be able to see the photos?

Your proofing gallery typically opens within three weeks of the shoot, often faster.

How long will the gallery be available?

Galleries stay open for six weeks after the photo date, so there’s plenty of time to look everything over, order, and loop in family members who want to order too.

What can I order?

We offer print packages, digital downloads, buttons, banners, and more. If you’re looking for something you don’t see in the gallery, reach out. If it’s a product we can get for you, we’ll make it happen.

How does payment work?

All orders are placed and paid for through online checkout directly in the gallery.

How long until I receive my order?

Digital downloads are available as soon as you order. Print products take a bit longer, and timing depends on how they’re shipped: bundled with the full team order (free shipping) or shipped directly to your house (an additional cost, but faster and separate from the team’s timeline).

I have more than one child on the team, or children on multiple teams. Can I get a sibling photo?

Yes! If you’d like a sibling combo shot, just let us know on photo day so we can get them together for that pose while everyone’s already there.

What if my child misses photo day, or we’re not happy with a photo?
